There are four types of sentence which are simple sentence (1 independent clause), compound sentence (2 independent clauses), complex sentence (1 independent clause + 2 or more dependent clauses) and complex-compound sentence (2 or more independent clause + 1 or more dependent clause).

    b. Noun (N)

*Sentence(S) is a group of words that are put together to mean something. A sentence is the basic unit of language which expresses a complete thought. It does this by following the grammatical rules of syntax.
Eg: The boy is holding the book.

*Noun (n) is a word used to refer to people, animals, objects, substances, states, events and feelings. Nouns can be a subject or an object of a verb, can be modified by an adjective and can take an article or determiner.
Eg: animal, place and so on
    For example:
    • Table
    • Pencil
    • The dog
    • A white house

*Adjective (adj) is a name for a word that modifies (describes) a noun. Nouns are words that name a place, a person, a thing, or an idea. An adjective is a word that gives more information about the noun that goes with it (accompanies).

Eg: I like blue skies and fluffy clouds.
    He is a nice man.

*Verb (v) a class of words used to show the performance of an action.
Eg: run, eat, write, and fight.

*Preposition (P) a class of words that indicate relationships between nouns, pronouns and other words in a sentence. Most often they come before a noun.
Eg: about, across, along, over and against.

*Pronoun (Pro) usually refers to something already mentioned in a sentence or piece of text. A pronoun is a word that substitutes a noun or noun phrase used to prevent repetition of the noun to which they refer.
Eg: they, she, he, and them.

*Determiner (Det) is used in front of nouns to indicate whether you are referring to something specific or something of a particular type.
Eg: this, the, that, these and those.

*Adverb (Adv) is a part of speech. It is any word that modifies any part of speech or other verbs other than a noun (modifiers of nouns are primarily adjectives and determiners). Adverbs can modify verbs, adjectives (including numbers), clauses, sentences and other adverbs.
Eg: slowly, delightfully, extremely, and carefully.

*Auxiliary verb (Aux) is used together with a main verb to give grammatical information and therefore add extra meaning to a sentence, which is not given by the main verb.
Eg: be, am, is, are, was and were

Most nouns have both a singular and plural form, can be preceded by an article and/or one or more adjectives, and can serve as the head of a noun phrase.

     Adjective (Adj)

An adjective modifies a noun or a pronoun by describing, identifying, or quantifying words. An adjective usually precedes the noun or the pronoun which it modifies. An adjective can be modified by an adverb, or by a phrase or clause functioning as an adverb.

A determiner is a word or affix that belongs to a class of noun modifiers that expresses the reference, including quantity, of a noun. A person or thing that determines or decides something. A modifying word that determines the kind of reference a noun or noun group has, e.g., a, the, every.

     Adverb (Adv)

A word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjective, verb, or other adverb or a phrase, expressing a relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause, degree, etc. (e.g., gently, quite, then, there). An adverb can modify a verb, an adjective, another adverb, a phrase, or a clause. An adverb indicates manner, time, place, cause, or degree and answers questions such as "how," "when," "where," "how much". While some adverbs can be identified by their characteristic "ly" suffix, most of them must be identified by untangling the grammatical relationships within the sentence or clause as a whole. Unlike an adjective, an adverb can be found in various places within the sentence.

     Auxiliary Verb (Aux)

A verb used in forming the tenses, moods, and voices of other verbs. The primary auxiliary verbs in English are be, do, and have. An auxiliary (also called helping verb, helper verb, auxiliary verb, or verbal auxiliary, abbreviated aux) is a verb functioning to give further semantic or syntactic information about the main or full verb following it.
